About MindHeart
The MindHeart Institute and Wellness Center, PLLC is a Charlotte, North Carolina based company providing psychiatric and mental health services to the entire state of North Carolina. MindHeart Institute and Wellness Center is located at 615 East 6th Street, Suite 111, Charlotte, NC 28202.
We provide psychiatric mental healthcare services to the Charlotte Metropolitan area, surrounding counties and the state of North Carolina. The center provides psychiatric assessments, medication management as well as case-by-case counseling services to adult patients suffering from depression and anxiety ages 18 and up.
MindHeart Institute and Wellness Center, PLLC places the focus on the provider-client relationship. Participating in appointments and open communication with your provider is essential in being able to develop a plan together. After the initial assessment, appointments for medication management will be held monthly to every 3 months, depending on the response to medication and other factors which will be reviewed during appointments. Therapy appointments will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Dr. Charlene Whitaker-Brown
Dr. Charlene Whitaker-Brown has over 20 years of experience in healthcare. She is a Clinical Associate professor in the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP).Dr. Whitaker-Brown has received her training fromsome of the best schools in the United Statesincluding, East Carolina University (BS Exercise and Sports Science), Winston-Salem State University (BS-Nursing)and Indiana State University(MSN-FNP and Doctor of Nursing Practice).
In addition, Dr. Whitaker-Brown obtained a Post Doctorate Degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has experience with treating heart failure patients in both the acute and outpatient setting. Her mental health experiences include psychological assessments and diagnosis for patients. Most recently she has worked with adolescents, adults, transgender and gender non-binary individuals to empower them and help them work through their eating disorders.

Dr. Whitaker-Brown’s program of scholarship is devoted to translating research into practice. Her primary focus is on chronic diseases specifically cardiovascular diseases related to heart failure patients and mental health. She has presented her findings at the local,national,and international levels. Dr. Whitaker-Brown has been instrumental in coordinating partnerships between community entities. Furthermore, she is involved in local,national and international service organizations.

Dr. Robert Glenn
Dr. Glenn is a board-certified Psychiatrist who treats children, adolescents, and adults struggling with mood and anxiety disorders. He has been practicing in the Charleston, SC area for the last 10 years.
Dr. Glenn has more recently expanded his practice to multiple other states including North Carolina via Telehealth. He attended the Medical University of South Carolina for medical school and psychiatric residency training. In his spare time, he likes to go kayaking or find the best new TV show to watch.
